Krista (she/her) was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and lived in a number of Ontario and British Columbian towns before settling in Dawson City in 2002. With several family members being veterans, she learned about PTSD and other mental health challenges from an early age. This led to a lifelong passion for helping professions and learning about the brain. Krista has a diverse education background, including:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Sociology from Trent University

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Addiction and Mental Health Counselling from Durham College

  • Masters Training in Psychometrics from Yorkville University

  • Fishery Technician from Yukon University

Krista has an even more wide-ranging employment history! She has worked in hospitality, tourism, youth justice, and curriculum development. She’s also been a gymnastics coach and a gold-panning instructor.

In her role as the Adult Learning Facilitator in Dawson City, Krista supports her clients to find and explore their potential, helping them see there are no limits to learning. Outside of work, Krista is an avid volunteer for community events ranging from youth sports to potlatches to golf tournaments. One golf tournament she organized not only raised $40,000 for 4 non-profits, but also aired on the History Channel’s show Yukon Gold in 2015.
