Stephanie hammond

Stephanie (she/her) has a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University. She has wide-ranging experiences as an educator. She has led a Montessori middle school program in Prince George, instructed Biology in Ghana, and taught in both mainstream and alternative education classrooms in Thunder Bay. Stephanie also led youth on horse packing trips in the Ya Ha Tinda region of Alberta for many summers and coached junior roller derby programs in BC and the Yukon. She was the founder of Queer Yukon, an organization to support the LGBTQ2S+ community.

As Executive Director, Stephanie advocates for all learners in schools and the workplace. She maintains her connection as an educator by also working as an LDAY math tutor. Stephanie trains and cares for LDAY’s official office dogs, Eddy and Hazel.
